AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES

ORCHARDS

HONEY

VEGETABLES
Mangos, citrus and banana Are mainly produced for our own needs and the surpluses are sold on local markets or go to local tradesmen. 2 beekeepers take care of 140 hives. The bees produce excellent honey from eucalyptus and is sold all the way to Bamako. A vegetable garden allows us to produce several variety of vegetables that we use in our restaurant.

SMALL BREEDINGS

FORESTRY

Rabbits, hens, ducks, turkeys : Teriya Bugu’s farm provides our restaurant with many products. We farm a forest of more than 200 000 eucalyptus which started 20 years ago. Each year we plant some more.

THE MINI-ZOO

MONKEYS

DROMEDARIES (CAMEL)

SNAKES
Monkeys, dromedaries and many other animals like the crowned cranes, donkeys, horse, crocodile, tortoises, peacocks... are present in our zoo.
The children keep asking for more!

RENEWABLE ENERGY

SOLAR PANEL

BIOGAS
photovoltaïque biogaz
Pioneer in solar energy in West Africa, Father Verspieren installed a number of solar panels to run water pumps for irrigation. “Transpaille” is a technology which produces methane through the fermentation of animal feces and dried vegetal compost. Our two tanks can store 25m3 of gas per day.

SOLAR HOT-WATER

BIOFUEL
chauffe-eau solaire huile de coton
We also use solar energy to warm water whith specific solar hot-water system. We are starting a new program to use vegetable oil as biofuel. We are currently using coton oil mixed with gazoil and we are moving toward using 100 % pure vegetable oil from jatropha plant that we are now cultivating.
